FDF 2009 – Ontario, CA February 12-15, 2009

FDF will be here before you know it and we want to make sure you have all the information you need. We will continue to update this page with details about the 2009 event and we encourage any questions or comments you may have. Hotel information, on line registration and other details are now available below. Weekend and competition schedules will be available soon. We are excited to see everyone this February and look forward to another great year of faith, dance and fellowship. See you in Ontario!

FDF Housing Information

Housing for FDF 2009 opens on November 10, 2008 and ends on January 26, 2009. We encourage everyone to book their rooms through the Ontario Convention Center using either of the following methods:

Please Remember:

Always print clearly and include your email address. This is important because:

  • A confirmation number will be emailed to you to advise you that the Housing Bureau has received your reservation request
  • A second confirmation will be e-mailed to you once the hotel has entered your reservation into their hotel block.

Please wait four business days after the cutoff date of January 26, 2009 to make any changes to your reservation or to add/make reservations.

When you book your room through the Ontario Convention and Visitor’s Bureau you will receive a special rate and you will also help FDF!

Booking through the Ontario CVB allows us to track our room usage and it helps us to keep pricing lower. It also helps us to prepare each year and allows us to negotiate better rates based on room pick-up. If you DON’T book through the Ontario CVB we have no true way of knowing how many rooms FDF uses each year. Please see the attached letter for a more detailed description of why you should book your room though the Ontario Convention and Visitor’s Bureau:

Division III & IV:

Division III groups are composed of dancers whose oldest member is 8 years of age or under, who wish to perform one 5-7 minute non-scored, exhibition suite.  Division III participants must purchase the Division III package or the Division III expanded package.

Division IV groups are composed of dancers whose youngest member is 21 years or older, who wish to perform one 10-12 minute non-scored, exhibition suite. Division IV participants must purchase the full participant registration package.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Parents/Guardians, if you do not purchase a Full Participant's Package you will not be able to attend meal functions with your children. Also, you will be required to purchase individual night event passes to supervise and attend evening events with your children i.e. Carnivals, DJ dances, Glendia etc

Other Important Information

Refund Policy:

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing via e-mail or fax before January 16, 2009. A $50 processing fee for refunds will be withheld. No refunds will be given after January 16, 2009.

Code of Conduct Policy Statement:

Chaperone Policy:

During FDF weekend, there must be at least one chaperone for every 7 participants under the age of 18.  Chaperones must be over the age of 21 and must purchase the full participant registration package.

Wristband Policy:

All registration wristbands must be properly and securely fastened at all times. In order to receive a replacement band, participants must return their original broken/damaged band.

Damage and Liability:

The Greek Orthodox Folk Dance & Choral Festival will not be responsible for any damages caused by individual participants of the FDF. Any charges resulting from damage to any of the facilities used and occupied by the FDF will be the sole responsibility of the participant, his/her parents, and/or parish responsible for the damages.

Meals:

In order to partake in the Friday and Saturday Brunch and Dinner and the Sunday Brunch, participants must purchase a Full Participant Package. Div. III participants may purchase the Div. III Meals Package. Please note that you will not be allowed into the dining area without having one of the two wristbands, even to simply accompany others.
