Q: Where is FDF being held this year? Anaheim Hilton Hotel, Anaheim, CA. Feb. 16-20, 2012. Q: Does FDF have an Endowment or Scholarship fund? Yes. The FDF ministry works very hard to create a program that helps fund additional educational opportunities, cultural and arts initiatives through the FDF Endowment Fund. Each year, FDF takes a portion of the revenue it generates from the weekend events and adds it to the FDF Endowment. Q: Why do hotel rooms always seem to be sold out? FDF can only book a certain amount of rooms without risking penalty fees or important discounts. In addition, our attendees typically book more rooms than they need in the case they want to use them later. Although this isn’t fair, it’s hard for us to track down who those people are and minimize those issues. We encourage you to book ONLY the rooms you need and know you will use. Q: I heard you have to be 21 to work on the management team. Is this true? Yes. In the past we have had team members of various ages but we feel it is more efficient and appropriate for all Management Team members to be at least 21 years of age. But we always welcome volunteers and we encourage younger members to be part of our youth mentor program. Q: I would like to volunteer for FDF. Who do I contact? We welcome and appreciate volunteers. If you are interested in helping out during the FDF weekend, just email us at: info@yourfdf.org Q: How do you come up with the cost of the package prices? The program is not an easy event to produce and because of the large size of the program, we are limited to where we can host FDF. Food, facility rental costs, service fees, AV and Video production, staging, etc. adds up and we try to work very closely with all our vendors to make sure we are getting the lowest possible price for the highest quality services. So the package price is really dictated by all the expenses we have keeping the program running and continuing to offer all the great things you’ve come to love about FDF over the last 35 years. Plus, natural economic costs go up every year so what FDF cost 10 years ago is not what it costs in today’s environment. In comparison, other camps and programs not related to FDF but with similar platforms can be as high as $800 per camper or seminar so we feel like the value we give for the price is really great! Q: What are some potential future locations for FDF? We are currently looking at several cities to host FDF. We know our dancers and attendees come from all over the west coast and beyond and we are making every effort to select destinations that work best for our program and budget. Some cities we have looked into for the near future are San Jose, Long Beach, Sacramento, Phoenix and Anaheim. |
